A Forgone Tale

He was the Ocean,
She was his moon.
They met at the horizon,
Till eternity Endured.

Rolling along waiting for her,
Smashing along mountains to dust.
Washing ashore to the cold night,
Whilst basking in her light, so bright.
Longing for her, chasing her sight.
Moving towards horizon in eternal twilight.

Only to discover that he hadn’t moved,
That hope was as fickle as her mood.
Deceived by the horizon near,
The promise of being close to dear,
So dashed, he lived in fear,
And in hopes, that she’d shed a tear.

Whispering, remember you I always shall,
Those eyes, forever my dream shall enthrall.
As begins my long nights rest,
Among darkness and fear, I try and zest.
For they are now, where I nest.
And through the veil, I shall always wish you the best.
